Hi Eves
Do you mind if I call you Eve? I hope not, because that is what we are all about. You may ask “why Eve?” Well, she represents every challenge we have all experienced. She understood the pain of disappointing God. She experienced rejection to the highest possible degree. She lived through the heartbreak of losing a son when Cain killed Abel, and then losing Cain too when he fled for his life after this horrible tragedy. She knows what it feels like to be alone and to open her heart to the wrong person (the serpent), and then having to deal with that mistake. So, why not Eve?
Welcome to our own website called Embracing EVE. Why Embracing? Well, we all need to be embraced, don’t we? I know I do. The world as we know it has gone crazy, with Covid19 still lingering, human trafficking becoming the normal, so many reports of death and murder, and many of these aimed at women, so it’s time for us to embrace ourselves and each other. It’s time for us to focus on what we have in common, instead of the differences that have been pulling us apart for centuries. It’s time for change. The word “embrace” means to:
- To hold (someone) closely in one’s arms, especially as a sign of affection.
- To accept (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically.
- An act of holding someone closely in one’s arms.
- An act of accepting something willingly or enthusiastically.
As you join Embracing EVE this is what you can expect. No matter who you are and where you come from, we are ready to hold you close, and accept you wholeheartedly. We realise our greatest strength for a ministry like this is to create an environment of total acceptance and unity, and we value each of these. Once this is set in place, we then need to realise that we have been called to the Kingdom for a time such as this. We have a purpose to fulfill, and so Embracing EVE offers you a platform to be empowered and activated to accomplish all that our Heavenly Father has called you to. Whatever you are called to do, Embracing EVE will help you to create opportunities to do so.
A 19th Century British Poet/Philosopher Matthew Arnold made the following statement and I agree with him wholeheartedly. He said, “If ever there comes a time when the women of the world come together purely and simply for the benefit of mankind, it will be a force such as the world has never known”. I agree because we girls do not realise how powerful we are. Think about it for a minute. God entrusted us with the ability to created and carry life. That is a huge responsibility. So if we could create life and carry it to term, can you imagine what we can accomplish together. So, join me as we begin to embrace ourselves and every other Eve who visits this page, and let’s become who we have been created to be – An army of women determined to change the world.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. Genesis 2 verse 15 (NIV)
